Adit

In the gaming industry, there are are a lot of things that annoy and wear gamers out. In a market of this size there will be quite a few issues that irk gamers of all kind from casual to hard-core. From various news channels spewing biased propaganda to huge games corporations that make decisions which bother gamers greatly.Since the industry is relatively new and still evolving, there are quite a few ignorant people who state various things about what games can do to the psyche of a person and so on.Here are 10 things gamers are tired of hearing.

#10 Too much violence

A huge misconception is that all video games cause people to turn into serial killers and psychopaths. According to various science journals and research, this has been disproved many times. According to them video games can even be helpful in improving reflexes, hand-eye coordination and even memory.

Apart from the shooters and action-oriented games, there are games that are also educational and do not always have high levels of gore and blood and can be played by gamers of all ages.

#9 Console Wars

Another area that infuriates gamers is the console wars between fans of Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo. This rift among the fans maybe caused by them pledging their allegiance to a certain company and these fans will initiate altercations with the fans that support their respective platforms.

These console wars are tiring and endless and the exclusivity of certain games also add fuel to this already enormous fire. Games such as Halo and Uncharted are exclusive to Microsoft and Sony respectively, and fans from either side will troll on gaming forums and sites.

Unfortunately these console wars, though are annoying, will be frequent in the coming generations too.

#8 Delays

When a game is announced at one of the huge press conferences, the developer reveals a release date along with an epic trailer. A lot of buzz is generated around this title and it wins innumerable awards from various gaming media outlets.

At the next few gaming conventions, there is a playable demo of the game at many booths and many people get hooked and eagerly anticipate the release of the game. After a period of time, the developer releases a statement due to whatever reason that the game will be delayed to another date or even indefinitely.

Though sometimes this can be an advantage for the developers to polish the game even further, it still annoys gamers everywhere.

#7 Downloadable Content

Along with Micro-transactions, another popular business model that is adopted by publishers these days is downloadable content. These extra playable parts of the game in the past were freely available and shipped with the game. Recently Capcom, the developers behind the Street Fighter franchise, were in hot water for purposely blocking content that was previously on the disc.

Fans protested this business model vehemently forcing Capcom to respond to these accusations. Business models such as these provoke gamers and causes many of them to turn down even well made games and are highly annoying.

#6 Sexism

Another issue gamers are tired of hearing is that girls can't play video games. In a male dominated market, game girls are very rare and only a fraction of the market play so called "hard-core" games. The assumption is that if you're a girl who plays games, you're most likely playing casual, mobile games such as Candy Crush or the hugely popular Kim kardashian mobile game.

Contrary to popular belief, many AAA studios are hiring women to work for them and this trend is increasing steadily. Though there is plenty of discrimination on the Internet on this topic, girls who play video games should be allowed to play whatever they feel like playing whenever they feel like just like their male gamer counterparts.

#5 Too Old To Play Videogames

This statement is widely uttered by people who rarely play or assume that video games harm your mind and body. If you're not the athletic type or a person who's interested in video games, you'd prefer video games to be your hobby rather than hiking or cycling.

There's no reason for you to stop playing the ridiculous fun Saints Row series in favor of jogging or dropping gaming completely because of few people. Or you're a establish software engineer or lawyer, there should still be no reason to quit gaming as a hobby. People of all ages should be able to enjoy gaming no matter what is said.

#4 PC Master Race

Though there are numerous platforms on which games can be played on, the fans of PC gaming are sometimes very obnoxious and hate on other so-called "inferior" platforms. Every gamer has a choice of platform and choose to play games on that platform and support a certain company.

Though PC is undoubtedly powerful and much more versatile and open to modding and other tweaks, the stability and the hassle of upgrading components is eliminated for consoles. This can be a huge reason for individuals who are not tech savvy opting for consoles rather than PC.

#3 Online Experience

Most games this generation have a multi-player mode where there are millions and millions of players playing the game all at once. Sony and Microsoft have their respective gaming networks; Playstation network or PSN and Microsoft's Xbox Live and one of their biggest aim is to provide a stable network, services and a friendly community.

Though is their vision, unfortunately, each of the networks have their own set of issues. Online gaming attracts gamers of all ages and from all around the world, one of the biggest drawbacks of this is that there will be an abundance of trolls, and abusive people. These people are annoying and are so common that gamers are tired of hearing them.

#2 Micro-transactions

In this age of gaming, the latest trend for many developers is to lock a few parts behind a paywall. These features of the game are vital to the game sometimes or even optional. These Micro transactions have gradually spread across the game over time with more and more AAA publishers adopting this model.

The cost of these transactions are also slowly rising along with the features that are behind this paywall. These Micro transactions are becoming a norm in the industry and will prevail in the years to come unfortunately.

#1 Media reactions

News channels love capitalizing on games that are popular among fans across the world and nitpick on almost non-existent issues. The Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty series are regular targets of few many media outlets. They claim that all games instigate people to commit crimes such as murder and other heinous crimes.

Despite being proved wrong by many researchers and studies they continue accuse games of causing issues among people. This can be a source of annoyance for many gamers in the community.
