#10 aim_headshot
As the name suggests, this meant for blowing your opponent’s head off! Players are allowed to choose between the Maverick M4A1 and CV-47. For those brave hearts who dare to run into open grounds, the map gives them a chance to equip themselves with Kevlar and a sub machine gun located between the two spawn zones. Magnum sniper rifles are located on either side and these deadly weapons can be used by those who prefer being stealthy than going Rambo!
This map is perfect for a small LAN party and is an ideal ground for testing your skill with respect to ‘headshots’.
#9 Dima (aa_dima)
Dima can be considered as the original clan war map. Starting from sub machine guns to sniper rifles, this map has a weapon for every player! Grenades can be used to bring in an explosive edge to the game and exterminate a group on opponents within a fraction of a second. The ‘Terrorists’ have a structure on their spawn side that allows them to have an aerial view of the entire map. However, let us not rule out the ‘Counter Terrorists’ who have a small opening in the wall that helps counter the height advantage given to the ‘Terrorists’.
The only problem in the map would be the ‘water bug’ that allows the ‘Terrorists’ to view the entire map through water, while remaining invisible to the ‘Counter Terrorists’.

This map is a virtual remake of a central American archaeological site. The ‘Counter Terrorists’ spawn in the middle of an Aztec burial ground and one can see the skeletons of the ancient people who were buried there. To add on to the scary atmosphere we have incessant rain! Now going back to the game, the main objective of the ‘Terrorists’ is to blow up the entire archaeological site! A powerful C4 seems to be their weapon of mass destruction. ‘Counter Terrorists’ will not allow this and they will fight back in an attempt to diffuse the bomb!
This map has two bomb sites and is meant for a large number of players.
#7 Train (de_train)
A very confusing map for a first time player, to say the least. The map consists of a train yard with trains everywhere (that is the part where confusing comes in) and as usual the ‘Terrorists’ are up to no good with their C4. This time they decide to destroy all the trains in the vicinity! The map is rather fun as you can hide under the trains where you are almost invisible.
If you do not enjoy hiding, you could go up the building and shoot down any opponent you see. There is a spot from where the snipers can wield the Magnum sniper rifle. Being a large map this map is suited for a large group of people.

‘Awp’, the term suggests that this map is meant for sniping only. A brilliant map where you can put your sniping skills to a test. One can hide behind blocks to protect themselves but beware, the bullets penetrate the blocks too! We have an elevated spot in between the map where you can see all around and shoot anyone within sight. However, this spot exposes you too so you are almost as vulnerable as your opponent is.
The map is like a dream come true for any gamer who loves to exploit the Magnum’s range and power!
#5 Minidust 2 (de_minidust2)
Counter Strike fans loved the map, ‘Dust 2’ so much that they decided to make a smaller version of the map where they could enjoy the dusty look even with a small number of players. Minidust 2 was the map that was created in the process. It boasts a single bombsite and it is a map loved by many gamers.
The map is small but do not let its size fool you as coming up with a master plan to decimate your opponents in this map is not child’s play. A perfect map for small number gamers who love playing with the C4, ‘Minidust 2’ has secured for itself a spot in the top 10 maps ever made for Counter Strike.
#4 Nuke (de_nuke)
In this case, you may judge the book by its cover. The map is indeed a big nuclear reactor where the ‘Terrorists’ try to blow the reactor up. Naturally we have the ‘Counter Terrorists’ trying to protect it. The map is a rather difficult to play in as there are places in the map that are very well lit but there are places that are rather dark and scary! To add on to the eerie atmosphere there is a red glow of the reactor that can be seen from the darkness.
However, this map has made a name for itself and is world famous. Personally, i feel this map deserves a spot in the top ten.
#3 Dima 2 (aa_dima2)
A small but highly entertaining map. This map takes care of all the bugs and glitches that were encountered in the original ‘dima’. What more, it even has an elevated coloumn for the ‘Counter Terrorists’. Now they will be at equal levels when facing the ‘Terrorists’, literally speaking!
The map is perfect for a 5 vs 5 clan match and it has a weapon for every type of player. The game is very fast in this map and makes it an ideal map for all LAN parties. There is no bombing involved in this map so it is a kill to win game!
#2 Inferno (de_inferno)
Houses! houses and more houses! This is the only way to describe this map! Both ‘Terrorists’ and ‘Counter Terrorists’ both spawn in an opening between, well, houses! The map has two bomb sites and a lot of hiding places. A good team can use the innumerable number of approach ways to take down the opponent team. Players have to be very attentive in this map as they can get shot from any direction. Such is the design of the map. Being a large map, it is perfect for a large number of people and although the map is hard to understand at first, it is one of the hardest maps made for this game.
#1 Dust 2 (de_dust2)
An evergreen map! One can never get bored of playing this map, no matter how many times he wins or loses! This is a map where the ‘Terrorists’ go head to head with the ‘Counter Terrorists’ in an attempt to destroy the sandstone structure in the map with a little help from their deadly C4. The map is ideal for gamers of all sorts! There is ample room for snipers to camp and small tunnels for the use of assault rifles. This map runs almost 24/7 on most online servers and rightfully deserves the number one spot in this list.
