Texas v Oklahoma State
Texas Longhorns v Kansas State

The No. 13 Kansas State Wildcats (6-2) will host the No. Texas Longhorns (5-3) for a tough Big 12 conference matchup on Saturday, November 5th. Kansas State is second in the Big 12, with a record of 4-1 and Texas is only slightly behind with a conference record of 3-2. The most recent game for both teams was against Oklahoma State, but Texas had last week off and is well rested. Texas lost to Oklahoma State by a score of 41-34 and Kansas State dominated the same team last week, 48-0. This conference matchup will have no shortage of hype on Saturday.

Texas Longhorns vs. Kansas State Wildcats Key Stats

This is going to be an incredibly tough matchup to bet on. The Longhorns and Wildcats are both super exciting sides and have each found similar success against conference teams this season. The last matchup between the Longhorns and Wildcats ended in a 21-17 win for the Longhorns.

Texas QB Quinn Ewers may have needed the bye week more than anybody to regroup after a tough outing against Oklahoma State two weeks ago, finishing 19 for 49. Ewers has 1,139 yards passing this season and 11 touchdowns. RB Bijan Robinson has been a force for the Texas offense with 920 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns. The Kansas State defense allows 133.3 yards per game. Expect some serious production from Robinson.

Kansas State's offense is slightly below the Texas offense on paper, averaging 413 yards and 31 points per game. Kansas State QB Adrian Martinez has two fewer pass attempts than Ewers, but more than 200 fewer yards. The Wildcats' passing scheme isn't quite as explosive as Ewers and Texas, but the running games matchup very closely. Kansas State RB Deuce Vaughn has 902 yards and 5 touchdowns on 154 carries. Whichever side has a better time establishing their run game will have a much easier time controlling the pace of play. Kansas State is also facing rumors that QB Martinez might miss out with an injury.

Texas Longhorns vs. Kansas State Wildcats Betting Prediction

Assuming Kansas State's QB is out injured, the offense is going to rely heavily on the ground game. Texas' solid run defense contains the Wildcats and causes the QB replacement to make mistakes. They get the lead and use Bijan Robinson to grind away the clock and manage the game from out in front. I don't feel great about it given they're on the road, but Texas comes out on top.

Prediction: Texas Moneyline (-137), Bijan Robinson to score a TD (-290)
