UTSA vs. Troy Prediction, Odds, Lines, Picks, and Preview- December 16 | 2022 NCAA Football Bowl Season

UTEP v UTSAC-USA Championship - North Texas v UTSA
Will UTSA outlast the Troy Trojans?

Rarely will you get two teams with such a winning culture in an early bowl game. We have a contract of styles in this one, as the UTSA Roadrunners want to spread out and attack defensive backs with one-on-one matchups, and the Troy Trojans want to dominate up front and establish their running game.

UTSA had one of the most explosive offenses in College Football, averaging close to 40 points per game and 485 yards every time they step on the football field. Unfortunately for the Roadrunners, their defense never caught up as they allowed over 400 yards per game on defense.

Can the Troy Trojans control the game with their rushing attack, or will the Roadrunners run the Trojans out of town?

UTSA Roadrunners vs. Troy Trojans Best Pick

The one constant is that we know the UTSA Roadrunners will throw the ball relentlessly. The Roadrunners challenge a defense to cover the entire field. The Troy Trojans coaching staff knows that as well. Expect Troy to attempt to take the air out of the ball, causing this game to be more of a slugfest than a shootout.

Even if Troy put together long sustaining drives, UTSA will have their opportunity to answer, and it would be out of character if they relied on their run game. The Roadrunners rely on their passing game and Frank Harris in this one. Take the Over.

UTSA Roadrunners vs. Troy Trojans Final Prediction

When the College Football bowl schedule was released, this was one of the early contests that immediately grabbed my attention. Winning 11 of 13 games shows remarkable consistency, and both teams accomplished that goal in 2022.

Troy will want to muck up this game. They want to take time off the clock and keep the high-powered Roadrunners' offense on the sidelines. UTSA hope to make this game an up-tempo track meet. The tenor of this game will be a fascinating storyline to watch.

Either way, these two teams are evenly matched, so we are in store for a good one. Troy may be able to slow down UTSA, but I don't think they will be able to stop the Roadrunners the entire game. I'll take Frank Harris in the critical moments to perform clutch. Take UTSA.
