IPL VI is about to begin within a few hours of time. KKR the defending champions will face the sombre DD at the Edens Gardens-The Lord’s of the East. KKR comprises of Gautam Gambhir as their captain,Brett Lee as bowling mentor cum player, the quality players like Balaji, Manoj Tiwary, Laxmi Ratan Shukla and many more. Whereas Mahela Jayawardene will be leading DD with players like Sehwag,Unmukt Chand,Warner. Both the teams will be facing each other for the 10^th time,where KKR has won the maximum. This will be the home match for the IPL V champions and without any doubt they are in better position in comparison to DD.KKR has won 2 of the 3 matches played at Eden gardens against DD. Last year KKR loss the match against DD by 8 wickets but in the later stages KKR sealed their berth as the champion. DD will be starting their journey in IPL VI on backfoot whereas KKR will be heading the game from a good front foot position.

The justification to the above title goes this way. Lets draw up a comparison of batsmen in both the teams. Though Gautam Gambhir is out of form is always a big match player,whereas Mahela Jayawardene is almost at par with KKR captain in terms of abilities. The collective effort of Manoj Tiwary, Laxmi , Bisla and Debabrata Das can easily be speculated as a better one than the cumulative effort from DD’s Unmukt Chand, Venugopal Rao, Kedar Jadhav, Manpreet Juneja. DD’s wicket-keeper batsmen Naman Ojha,Gautam can never match the likes of Brad Haddin and Brendon McCullum. Virender Sehwag of DD stands out amongst the rest of his teammates but it’s unsure whether he will be fully fit to play the opening game.KKR too have Yusuf Pathan ,who has the ability to make his team win single-handedly on his day. DD’s Warner is the other person to whom KKR won’t be showing any sort of mercy and good news for them is that he is out of form. Kallis for the KKR team places the team in far better position than the opponent. Now if we look at the bowling line-up there also KKR is far ahead than DD. The KKR bowling attack fills with world class bowlers like James Pattinson, Balaji, Narine, Shakib-Al-Hassan, Abdullah, Sangwan and the all-rounders who can bowl too like Kallis, Laxmi, Pathan will always remain atop the DD’s bowling department which consists of Asish Nehra, Agarkar, Irfan Pathan, Umesh Jadav , John Botha, Andre Russell , Morne Morkel. So in terms of power and skills KKR is far ahead of DD literally. But we all know,cricket is a game of uncertainties, so effort plus luck will decide the winner of the opening match.

The oversaid justifications suggests that DD will start their journey in IPL VI on the losing side and every KKR fan’s heart too feels the same.Thus , advantage KKR!!!!!
