Body Blow for the Indian football team? Manager headed home

The problems don’t seem to be ending for Bob Houghton and his boys, as Pradeep Choudhary ,the long time manager of the Indian National Team has decided to return home. Mr. Choudhary is said to be headed home due to serious differences with coach Bob Houghton though the AIFF had it’s own story to tell. AIFF General Secratory Kushal Das said

“the manager is coming back…he has some personal health problems. So we have agreed to release him with immediate effect. Mr. Choudhary may join the team later during the Asian Cup in Doha.”

. However, sources in the AIFF have claimed that Mr. Choudhary made his decision after a serious tiff with coach Houghton.

“Choudhury called up the federation on Friday morning and said he was returning home. The AIFF officials tried their best to pursue the manager to change his mind but he was simply adamant,”

said an official. One wonders, how badly this will dampen the spirits in the camp with the Asian Cup barely a fortnight away.

With the team hitting a rough patch , losing almost all games it’s played recently, almost all important players lying injured and other national teams pulling out of their games against India , this might just be the final nail in Team India’s coffin.
