Breakdancing to make Olympic debut at Paris 2024
Surfing, sport climbing and skateboarding are all set to make their Olympic debuts at Tokyo 2020, but until now they had not been assured of places on the Olympic programme beyond that year.
Meanwhile breakdancing - or breaking, as the sport is known - will make its debut at Paris 2024.
Its inclusion may come as a surprise, but it follows on from the successful introduction of the sport at the Youth Olympic Games programme last year.
Two sports added by the Japanese for Tokyo 2020 - baseball/softball and karate - were dropped by the French.
