Having won the gold medal in the 48kg category at the 2014 Glasgow edition, the multi-faceted Sanjita Chanu will start off as the competition's favourite with a gold medal at the 2017 Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships-bound to give her the impetus to push ahead and clinch the top spot yet again.

The 24-year old, who hails from Manipur bagged a gold medal in the 48kg category at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and this year, she will be fighting it out in the 53kg category.
