The United States of America is going to celebrate it’s birthday tomorrow and Rockstar Games has come up with an innovative way to celebrate it by releasing a special independence day update online for Grand Theft Auto.
The update, version 1.15, adds some new features to the game including new vehicles which will allow the gamers to showcase their "exceptionalism and own the road from sea to shining sea” according to what the game developers have told Livewire. The new vehicles donning the US emblem are – the Sovereign motorcycle and the Liberator Monster Truck. It also has two new weapons in its armory – the High-powered Musket and the Rocket Launcher.
Rockstar has also added seven new properties to the rolls of it’s in -game real estate, Dynasty 8 – Paleto Bay, Vinewood Hills, Republican Space Ranger, Pleasure Pier, Ferris Whale and Roller Coaster.
There are also new clothing items available in the clothes store, including a “Made in the USA’ T-shirt, a backwoods mullet and an eagle soar with an animal mask.
The update is automatically available in XBox 360 and Playstation 3 consoles, after turning them on. Although, XBox 360 players will have to download an additional compatibilty pack when they want to play “GTA Online”. Rockstar will also hold a special four-day Independence day event, starting from Wednesday.
Meanwhile, GTA V is set to be released in the coming fall, and has been built up to the hype by a group of some hardcore GTA fans, known as Zapruder Pictures, who have created a real-life trailer for the game, based on the first GTA V trailer that came out in 2012. This clip has received stupendous appreciation from the public, garnering 400,000 views in just two days. Interestingly, this Madrid-based group is also responsible for making film trailer parodies of “Max Payne” and “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare”.
