Udghosh'15 was conducted from 1st-4th October,2015. Udghosh is the annual sporting extravaganza of IIT Kanpur. Every year it sees massive participation from all over the nation and the festival has been growing at an astonishing rate since its inception and has been in prominence ever since.

This year Udghosh'15 has broken all expectations and become one of the best sports festivals in India. The level of performances seen throughout the sporting spectrum has been phenomenal and this just goes on to show the amount of raw talent that the youth of this nation possess. All it needs is encouraging tournaments all over the nation such as Udghosh, to be moulded into a world-class sporting force to reckon with.

Some of the major sporting highlights on Day 1 of the festival included NIT Jalandhar's impeccable performance against JSS in the Men's Basketball section, a similarly extraordinary performance by JSS  against CIPET in the men's football section. Shiv Nadar caused a huge upset by defeating the host team IITK(A) 4-0 in men's  football. IIT Delhi really upped their ante against NIT Trichy and won comfortably in the end.

Day 2 saw IITK(A) beat BBD college comfortably by 81 runs in men's cricket. However, IITK (B) suffered a loss by 4 wickets against DTU. Squash saw IITK(A) score a 3-0 whitewash over IIM Indore, though the games were a lot tighter than the scoreline makes it out to be. IITK (B) displayed some amazing football to beat IIM Indore 7-0.

Akshat Verma scored an astounding win in the 110m hurdles time-trials, completing in 16:45.

Day 3 saw Jamia win a high scoring thriller against IIT-Roorkee in the quarters.  IITK players won all the matches in squash singles quarterfinals. St. Xaviers scored a shock victory over IITK (A) by 90 runs in cricket.

Day 4 saw IITD lift the cricket trophy by scoring a magnificent victory over IITR. Vivek Dubey won the squash singles competition, and to top that, IITK (A) won the squash team competition, thus completing a clean sweep for IITK in squash competitions. IITR won the football trophy by defeating JSS by 2-0.

Day 4 also brought with it some bitter-sweet moments. The crowd was entitled to a raft of amazing sports performances by all the final day participants. The success of the festival was even clearer by the fact that all the competitions were conducted fairly and it was unanimous that the winners of all competitions were definitely the best among the lot.

The most important spectacle of Day 4, however, was the Closing Ceremony graced by Mr. Sanath Jayasuriya. His pearls of wisdom will definitely last forever with everyone who had been present at the OAT that day. His humility and dedication towards sports was something which all the participants must look up to if they want to be successful in life. His words showed us that talent might make u a good player, but it is your attitude and dedication that makes you a great sportsperson.
