Manchester United has taken down the plate which was attached to Sir Busby's old seat at the director’s box and have moved his family’s three seats, which were beside his in the director’s box, elsewhere in the stadium.

Sir Matt Busby is considered as one the Manchester United's greatest managers, after playing a pivotal role in their history and is still remembered among fans for reviving the Red Devils. In two spells, the Scottish manager was in charge of Manchester United for over 25 years and helped the Red Devils clinch their first European Cup in 1968.

He also guided them to five league titles over a 16 year period in the 1950s and the 1960s.

However, things took a turn for the woese as Sir Busby almost lost his life in the Munich Airport disaster that claimed the lives of 23 people, including eight players. Busby, however, was in critical condition after the disaster and spent two months recovering in the hospital.

The Scot boss would then go on to make a comeback and rebuild a legendary and an all-conquering team consisting of players like Bobby Charlton, Dennis Law, and George Best.

Matt Busby, unfortunately, passed away in 1994 and was later honoured with a statue of himself placed outside Old Trafford. The Sir Matt Busby Way also leads up to Old Trafford, which is also mentioned in the official address of the clubs stadium.

The indifferent treatment by the Manchester United management towards one of the greatest managers of the club has not be restricted to just this incident.

In the current season, his grandchildren have lost their seats in the stadiums Director's Box which was given to Busby when he was in charge of the club. Following his death, the seats were then used by his children, who are now deceased, and finally to his grandchildren.

Sir Matt’s grandchildren were given season tickets in the director’s box for 2015-16 following the deaths of his son Sandy in the year 2014 and daughter Sheena in 2015. Sandy and Sheena’s families now have three season tickets each with hospitality provided in the Warwick Suite.

Amanda Eustace, daughter of Sandy Busby, told the Manchester Evening News: “My dad always said it was a privilege to have those box tickets. We have been extremely grateful to United for what they have given us over the past years. We do still have season tickets, which is absolutely fantastic.”

Despite taking away seats from the Director's Box, it is the removal of the plaque from Sir Busby's own commemorative seat that has left the fans disappointed. In a move to return the plaque back to original place, the fans have already started an online petition which is gathering pace.
