Host Myanmar will form a new women's futsal club this month to prepare for the ASEAN Futsal Club Championship in Nay Pyi Taw, sports circles said on Monday.

A total of 30 male and female players will be chosen and trained intensively for the championship, Xinhua reported.

The women's futsal team is expected to play a friendly abroad ahead of the championship.

Futsal is similar to outdoor football. The game is played indoors and features five players, one of whom is the goalkeeper. There are no limits regarding substitutions and the game is played on a hard surface.
