US Open Pickleball Championships: Stavya Bhasin stars as India wins 10 medals

The Indian contingent delivered an exhilarating performance at the US Open Pickleball Championships, returning with a total of 10 medals, comprising three gold, three silver, and four bronze.

The prestigious event took place in Naples, Florida from the April 14-20, 2024. Notably, more than 11 athletes from India were sponsored by Global Sports at the event.

The likes of Stavya Bhasin, Dhiren Patel and Hemal Jain returned home with gold medals in the Junior Singles, Men’s Singles 5.0, and Men’s Singles 3.5, respectively.

Leading the pack, Stavya Bhasin bagged as many as four medals, including a silver medal in the Men’s Doubles 5.0 and two bronze medals in the Junior Men’s Doubles and Junior Mixed Doubles.

Ronav Motiani also showcased impressive performances as he took home three medals, including a pair of silver medals in the Men’s Doubles 5.0 and Junior Singles. He also claimed a bronze medal in the Junior Men’s Doubles category.

Himanshu Dewaskar took the overall tally to 10 medals at the US Open Pickleball Championships after clinching a bronze medal in the Men’s Singles 5.0 category. Other athletes such as Harsh Mehta and Arman Bhatia shone brightly but finished fifth in the Men’s Pro Doubles.

Hemal Jain, who won gold in the Men’s Singles 3.5 event, felt proud of how India performed at the US Open Pickleball Championships. He emphasized India’s rise in pickleball on the global stage and expressed confidence in achieving greater heights in the future.

Notably, more than 3000 players from 29 countries participated in the US Open Pickleball Championships.
