Social media-the "5th P" for sports marketing and management

Apart from the 4P’s of marketing (sports marketing in specific), there’s yet another p. the 5th P of sports marketing management. Public Relations. Things have changed in recent days, and more people are glued to the online media than the traditional media. So, I personally feel its best to use the online social media to its fullest extent to reach the publics.

Here are the reasons as to why use social media strategies into regular PR:

Authenticity: We crave authenticity and the social media provides it

Converse: The web allows you to talk with your consumers and prospects, not at them

Popularity: The social media allows all the brands to get popular across the globe, thanks to the globalization brought out by the internet.

Platform: The social media platforms such as facebook, blogs, twitter helps one to share their information with their fans and consumers, and also build on the conversation with them, which is not possible with the traditional media.

Social media PR is a long-term dynamic process and many organizations finds it difficult to embrace them. But the ones who embrace the social media will stand out from the crowd in the long run, and will go on to build to better, bigger brand in the minds of the fans, consumers and the public.
