1948: Dinamo Bucure?ti formed from the merger of two pre-existing clubs, and has since gone on to become one of Romania’s most successful teams.

1995: Blackburn Rovers sealed their first Barclays Premier League title on a dramatic final day of the 1994/95 season, despite losing 2-1 to Liverpool, as Manchester United fell short by drawing 1-1 with West Ham United.

1927: The birth of ball-by-ball radio commentary.

1948: Birth of Bob Woolmer, who was an international cricketer, professional cricket coach and also a professional commentator.

1983: Birth of Tatenda Taibu, a Zimbabwean cricketer, who is a wicketkeeper and batsman and also holds the record for being the youngest captain in the history of Test cricket.

1977: Birth of Anca Barna, Cluj Romania, tennis star (semifinals 1995 ITF Poland).
