States where DraftKings is legal

With sports betting rapidly expanding and daily fantasy sports being well established, DraftKings is becoming available to residents in nearly every state. It can be hard to keep up, but here’s the breakdown of where DraftKings is and isn’t legal.



The following states have DraftKings sportsbook up and running legally:

  • Arizona
  • Colorado
  • Connecticut
  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Iowa
  • Kansas
  • Louisiana
  • Michigan
  • New Hampshire
  • New Jersey
  • New York
  • Oregon
  • Pennsylvania
  • Tennessee
  • Virginia
  • West Virginia
  • Wyoming



Most states have legalized and allowed DraftKings daily fantasy sports:

  • Alabama
  • Alaska
  • Arizona
  • Arkansas
  • California
  • Colorado
  • Connecticut
  • Delaware
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Iowa
  • Kansas
  • Kentucky
  • Louisiana

While some states don’t have DraftKings yet because of pending legal infrastructure, some states don’t have their sportsbook or DFS because it’s expressly illegal. These are the states that do not allow at least one option at the moment, if not both.



You can’t use DraftKings sportsbook at all in these states:

  • California
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Hawaii
  • Idaho
  • Kentucky
  • Maine
  • Massachusetts
  • Minnesota
  • Missouri
  • New Mexico
  • North Dakota
  • Ohio

  • Wisconsin



While DFS is allowed in nearly every state, these six currently don’t allow daily fantasy sports:

  • Hawaii
  • Idaho
  • Montana
  • Nevada
  • Oregon
  • Washington



These are the two states where the DraftKings app is completely useless right now:

  • Hawaii
  • Idaho



DraftKings also has a casino, although it’s not as popular. They don’t operate everywhere that the sportsbook does, but the casino is available in these four special states:


  • Michigan
  • New Jersey
  • Pennsylvania
  • West Virginia
