Why is Ryan Jenson missing season 2023?

After missing most of last season with a major knee injury, the Bucs are placing Jensen on season-ending injured reserve.

Complications from a knee injury during last summer's training camp are affecting the ex-Pro Bowler's condition.

Jensen missed the entire 2022 regular season but declined to have surgery. After extensive rehab, he returned for the Bucs' wild-card playoff loss to the Cowboys.

Crafting a thriving NFL career, Jensen, a 2013 6th-round pick by the Ravens, was released by Ravens early in his career before becoming a full-time starter in 2017.

After a 4-year stint with the Ravens, Jensen joined the Bucs in 2018. He centered the team from 2018-21 & played an integral role in the Bucs winning SB LV.

Jensen was selected to his first Pro Bowl in 2021 while helping Tom Brady throw for a career-high 5,316 yards and 43 touchdowns.

With Jensen out, Hainsey will resume his position as the starting center, he started each game during the 2021 regular season after appearing in nine games as a rookie.
