Katie Ledecky is an eminent American swimmer specialising in freestyle events. Raised in a family with a strong background in swimming, with her brother and mother having been swam professionally, she started her swimming journey as a six year old.
With 10 Olympic medals and 26 World Championships medals, Ledecky has earned the title of the female swimmer with the highest number of medals. The American swimmer earned the spotlight after setting the American and US Open record twice in the 500-yard-freestyle while she was still in high school.
