Luke became the youngest male swimmer to qualify for the U.S. Olympic swim team since 2000, finishing second to two-time Olympic gold medalist Bobby Finke in the men's 800-meter freestyle.

At the 2023 Speedo Winter Junior Championship East, Luke won the gold medal in the 1650 Y freestyle event. His swim time of 14:50.37 also broke the Indiana swimming record. The Legend Michael Phelps's personal best record in the age group of 15–18 was 3:46.73, which Luke broke by lowering the swim time by 31 microseconds at the 400-meter freestyle event after 21 years.
