Christian Newman has been missing action on The Young and the Restless for years. The baby, who Nick Newman is legally raising, is the biological son of Adam Newman and Sage Warner. Although born with confusing paternity and surrounded by problems since birth, Christian projects the loving side of Nick Newman. The child has been referred occasionally in the last four years.
The Young and the Restless fans know the long-running American daily soap revolves around various influential families of the fictional Genoa City. The CBS soap, which premiered in March 1973, often features characters who move in and out of the show according to the storyline. The character of Christian Newman introduced in 2015, has not been part of the soap for more than four years as the plot does not demand it.
However, fans have expressed displeasure over the child's absence even during Thanksgiving, a celebration that brings the family together. One viewer identifying as Diane Foster Bower says:

Diane was replying to a Facebook post by Bonnie Simpson Hamblin on a fan page titled, "Young and Restless Canadian Day Ahead Recaps - Soaps Spoilers", where Bonnie questioned, why the show doesn't show Christian.
Many other fans have voiced similar opinions about showing the child during Thanksgiving.
Some fans thought the kid should be shown once in a while, while others questioned never bringing up Christian's name in the show.
However, some viewers thought, there was no actor signed on to play the character. One fan wanted to raise this point with the writers.
The Young and the Restless: Christian Newman's brief journey on the soap
Christian was born to Sage Warner on The Young and the Restless in October 2015 when she was romantically involved with Nick Newman after her breakup with Adam Newman. Sage lied that Nick was the father when the biological father was Adam. However, Adam was masquerading as the dead Gabriel Bingham at the time. As such, he doctored the paternity test results to avoid exposure.
While Adam helped Sage deliver baby Christian prematurely, the baby was presumed dead due to complications within a month. However, the baby was stolen by nurse Stephens and Dr. Anderson to give it to Sharon Collins-Newman who was in Fairview Facility due to her bipolar disorder and was under the impression that she was pregnant, even after she miscarried.

Sharon and her then-husband, Dylan McAvoy, named baby Christian, Sullivan McAvoy. In 2016, when Sage learned about her stolen baby, she confronted Sharon. Despite running a DNA test to prove the truth, Sharon was reluctant to hand over Sully. However, after Sage met with a car accident which eventually took her life, Sharon was ready to give up Christian.
While Nick took in Sully, the real Christian, to raise as his son, Adam Newman, Christian's biological father, presumably died in an explosion. As Chelsea moved in with Nick, she told Nick about Christian's paternity. A devastated Nick continued to raise Christian since the biological parents were dead. At the time twins Jamie and Alister Tobias played the baby.
What was Christian's later story arc on The Young and the Restless?
In 2019 The Young and the Restless, Adam turned up alive and wanted to fight for Christian's custody. After a bitter in-court battle, Adam moved aside and Nick continued to be Christian's legal father. During this time, child actor Alex Wilson played Christian Newman.
Christian had another traumatizing experience around that time when Chelsea's son Connor Newman locked the child in the garage due to his mental health problems. Later Connor apologized and the boys made up.
December 2021 saw a brief reference to Christian as Nick left the child in Sharon's care when leaving town. Again in 2022, Nick suggested Sharon spend time with Christian while grieving Rey's death. However, Christian rarely got enough onscreen time on The Young and the Restless.
