Chloe Lane spent her first 15 years in an orphanage until she moved in with Nancy Wesley and her husband, Craig.

Later, she finally discovered that Nancy was her real mother, which complicated things further. She also didn't have a good time at Salem High School, where she was called "Ghoul Girl," as she wore black. Later, she became close to Belle Black and Shawn Brady.

Chloe started dating Philip Kiriakis but soon discovered that he began dating her because of a lost bet. Philip tried to win her back with more effort. Philip and Chloe came closer, but their relationship was short-lived. Belle's jaded brother, Brady, returned to town and bonded well with Chloe over a love for the opera.

In the following episodes of Days of Our Lives, Philip and Chloe's relationship goes through turmoil. After Philip attempts to make Brady look like he's a thief, Chloe breaks up her relationship with Philip and chooses Brady.

All these lead to more turmoil, and finally, Chloe gets hurt in an accident, which leads to her face getting severely disfigured. This accident changes the chemistry and turmoil between Chloe and Brady forever.

When Chloe was diagnosed with leukemia, Brady helped her search for her biological father, as his bone marrow would match her.

Chloe survived the disease when her sister, Joy, was born and was a perfect match for her bone marrow transplant. Later, Chloe left to pursue her dream of singing opera in Europe for a brief duration. The distance started affecting Brady and Chloe's relationship.

Chloe's face was severely disfigured in a car crash just before Brady was about to question her on their relationship status. Her scars made her feel embarrassed, and she tried to make Brady believe that she was dead. Eventually, Brady discovers the truth and assures her of his unconditional love for her.

Chloe underwent various reconstructive surgeries and revealed her recovered face to Brady at their wedding. Later in the episodes of Days of Our Lives, they moved to Vienna so that Chloe could follow her passion for opera singing.
