AJ Dybantsa, the No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2025, confirmed his final four colleges: Alabama, BYU, Kansas and North Carolina. On Friday, he scored 31 points in the 80-77 loss against Dream City.
In highlights posted by SportsCenter NEXT, one fan took to the comment section and compared him to two-time NBA All-Star Shai-Gilgeous Alexander. Dybantsa reshared the fan's comment and dropped a two-word reaction on his Instagram story.

ESPN's Director of Recruitment Paul Biancardi also commented on a post, commending Dybantsa's versatility.
"His talent and potential are something we have seen only on a limited number of occasions. The combination of his versatility, basketball IQ, scoring prowess, and competitive nature makes him special!" commented Biancardi.

Other fans also commented on the post comparing Dybantsa with Shai-Gilgeous Alexander.

In another game against Link Academy, Dybantsa recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds and shared another fan's reaction who compared him with the OKC star.

Recruiting insider hints at AJ Dybantsa's decision timeline
While AJ Dybantsa's father, Ace Dybantsa said that the Utah Prep star would announce his decision in Feb. 2025 to honor Black History Month.
However, college basketball recruiter insider Trilly Donovan posted a cryptic tweet about the 6-foot-9 Utah Prep player's commitment.
"No. 1 off the board next week," wrote Donovan on X.
According to On3, the BYU Cougars have the highest chance of landing Dybantsa (69.2%) followed by Kansas State with a 13.2% prediction of landing the No. 1 recruit. Alabama has a 7.0% chance and North Carolina has a 2.2% probability.
