Four-star edge rusher Justin Hill was offered by Alabama in the Nick Saban era last year and gave his commitment to the Crimson Tide in July. The 2025 class prospect shut down his recruitment on Tuesday and will sign with first-year coach Kalen DeBoer's program on Dec. 4.
“Bama Family, I’m Home!!! No Questions Asked🤐🤐🤐 #RollTide #LANK," Hill told Hayes Fawcett of On3.
Hill was consistent this season by compiling 33 tackles, seven tackles for loss, eight sacks, a forced fumble and an interception. Last year, he recorded 16 tackles for loss and 13 sacks.
While Hill has played multiple positions along the defensive front, Alabama defensive coordinator Kane Wommack envisions him as a wolf linebacker. According to Hill’s high school coach, Chad Murphy, Alabama's ability to utilize his versatility played a key role in securing his commitment.
"They've already had packages, used guys in packages like that," Murphy told Tuscaloosa News. "(They) have told him they're going to continue to do so. I know that was big for Justin, and I think that's probably why they like him because of his versatility."
Justin Hill's commitment was Alabama's big recruiting win, especially considering he hails from Ohio State’s backyard. The Buckeyes were heavily involved in his recruitment, but he ultimately chose the Crimson Tide over a host of other top programs, including Notre Dame, USC, Oregon, Florida, Miami, and Kentucky.
Justin Hill confirms Alabama visit for the Iron Bowl
Just after reaffirming his commitment to Alabama, Justin Hill announced that he would visit the Crimson Tide for the Crimson Tide's (8-3, 4-3 SEC) Iron Bowl game against Auburn (5-6, 2-5) on Saturday. He confirmed the news on X, writing,
"I will be in BAMA this weekend for the Iron Bowl!!! #RollTide #LANK."
Hill is ranked by the On3 Industry Rankings as the No. 54 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 5 edge rusher in the 2025 class and the No. 3 recruit Ohio. He is one of the highest-rated prospects in Alabama's 2025 class, alongside quarterback Keelon Russell, offensive tackle Ty Haywood, cornerback Dijon Lee and interior offensive lineman Michael Carroll, among others.
