Jasper Johnson, the No. 25 recruit in the Class of 2025 (according to On3's Industry Rankings), signed for head coach Mark Pope's side Kentucky Wildcats, on Nov. 13. Johnson completed his high school basketball career at RWE in Overtime Elite.
The famous basketball page "GREENLIGHT MEDIA" shared Pope's quote, where he claimed that Johnson was the most dangerous scorer in high school basketball. They also posted some highlights of the 6-foot-4 shooting guard on Friday.
"Counting down the days until we see Jasper Johnson rock Kentucky blue. 🔥⏳ @bruhjasperj. The 5⭐️ hometown hero has drawn high praise from head coach Mark Pope, and projects to be a 1st Round talent in the 2026 NBA Draft," the post was captioned.
"Jasper Johnson (was) the most dangerous scorer in all of high school basketball. He is going to be loved by all of BBN," Pope said.
The hoops fans gave their opinions in the comment section of the post.

"Darryn Peterson," a fan said.
"I like Jasper but cmon Darryn gave AJ 50 twice lol," another fan said.
"he gotta say that cmon, Jasper is his player and he gotta believe and uplift him.. also its not entirely wrong we know how lethal he is from the field but I don't think he's better than darryn or aj or even Cameron for that matter," a fan said.
More fans joined the conversation.

"I mean its not crazyyyy to say that look at any of his highlight hes always shot a healthy fg but THE BEST? nah i doubt that..popes gotta motivate his signings but jasper def in top 5 scorers in high school basketball fs aint nobody doubting that," a fan said.

Why did Jasper Johnson sign for Kentucky?
The shooting guard received offers from several top programs, including the Alabama Crimson Tide, North Carolina Tar Heels, Auburn Tigers and Missouri Tigers. However, after taking one official and three unofficial visits to Kentucky, he signed for Mark Pope's team.
He talked about his decision with ESPN.
"Being from Lexington and playing for the home school, my city and state meant something to me," he told ESPN. "Rupp Arena is a magical place."
Johnson will be joined by Malachi Moreno, Braydon Hawthorne and Andrija Jelavic next season.
