Four-star cornerback Jamarrion Gordon remains one of the most promising uncommitted players in the 2026 class. The standout from Jackson High School in Alabama has no definite timeline for his commitment, but he gave Mike Norvell's Florida State an edge in his recruitment on Saturday by sharing an image of him on X donning the Seminoles gloves.

Gordon tagged coach Norvell, director of player personnel Chuck Cantor, assistant director of player personnel DJ Daniels, and offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn in the post, writing:

"FSU 👀🍢 @Coach_Norvell @_DJDaniels @CoachGusMalzahn @ChuckCantor."

Gordon committed to UCF this summer with his high school teammate and wide receiver, Keeyun Chapman, as the first pair on board in the Knights' 2026 class. However, he decommitted last month. He had initially committed to Alabama in May, before flipping to UCF in July.

Gordon has also received offers from Auburn, Tennessee, Penn State, LSU, Oregon and Georgia, among others. He is the No. 323 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 22 cornerback in the 2026 cycle and the No. 12 player in Alabama, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

Gordon has more than 20 offers and has racked up three interceptions along with 33 total tackles (27 solo and six assists), four pass deflections and a fumble recovery in 14 games this season, according to MaxPreps. He also contributed offensively with 330 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

Florida State might secure Jamarrion Gordon due to Gus Malzahn

Jamarrion Gordon attended Florida State's 41-7 win over Charleston Southern on Nov. 23 and received a scholarship offer from the school. His decommitment from UCF happened a week later.

Interestingly, Gordon left UCF following Gus Malzahn leaving the Bulls to become the new offensive coordinator at Florida State. With Malzahn joining Florida State, the school is now heavily in the race for Gordon's commitment.

Florida State's 2026 class currently has five commitments, ranking No. 6 in the nation overall. The recruits include two defensive back commits in four-star safety Darryl Bell and three-star safety Tedarius Hughes. It also features four-star quarterback Brady Smigiel, as well as four-star athletes Efrem White and Darryon Williams.

Florida State's 2026 class was also hit with three decommitments, including four-star cornerback Jaelen Waters.
