AJ Dybantsa, the No. 1-ranked prospect in the Class of 2025, has yet to decide his college. On Sept. 4, Dybantsa discussed various topics on "Says Who Sports," by John Dauphin.

He was asked to describe his basketball IQ and this is what the Brockton, MA native said:

"I would say I have a natural, like a natural good IQ. But I mean I used to watch the game, I still watch the game so much and study the game so much from other players.
"I can just I think I just watched it so much where, just, God gave me the gift to just be able to see different things that people don't see. Passes people don't see in direct traffic the way people can't. So I mean I just I think it's a gift but I also think the studying that I have done helps." (6:35)

AJ Dybantsa earned the 2022-23 Gatorade Massachusetts Boys Basketball Player of the Year after averaging 19.1 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.5 blocks as a freshman at his previous school, St. Sebastian.

At the 2023 Nike Peach Jam, the 6-foot-9 small forward averaged 25.8 points per game. This season he is averaging a double-double with 14 points, 14 rebounds, five assists and three steals per contest for Utah Prep.

At the U17 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Turkey, Dybantsa led Team USA to a gold medal with 14.1 ppg, 3.9 rpg and 4.1 apg.

Latest on AJ Dybantsa's recruitment

Basketball insider Trilly Donovan took to X to provide a cryptic update on AJ Dybantsa's commitment on Friday:

"No. 1 off the board next week."

According to On3, the BYU Cougars have a 69.2% chance of landing the Utah Prep player, the Kansas State Wildcats sit with a 13.2% prediction, the Alabama Crimson Tide with 7.0% and the North Carolina Tar Heels have a 2.2% chance of signing Dybantsa.
