RJ Day, the son of Ohio State coach Ryan Day, is making a name for himself in high school football. After a fantastic sophomore year, he has already entered his school's history book. After just two seasons with the Stallions, he became the St. Francis DeSales' all-time leader in passing yards.
He spoke about his father and his recruitment process during an interview with Eleven Warriors in April.
"We'll see," RJ said when asked about his thoughts on playing for his father. "But it's always been a dream, dream of mine to play in the Shoe and play for my dad. But if the situation's right, then, yeah, we'll go ahead. But until then, I'll keep hunting down teams and make my decision later on."
RJ has yet to receive an offer from his father. The 2027 quarterback is sitting on three offers: from Boston College, Toledo and Marshall.
RJ Day also shed light on his visits to programs such as Clemson and South Carolina
Ohio State Buckeyes coach Ryan Day's son RJ Day is a 2027 quarterback from St. Francis DeSales High School. The 6-foot quarterback has had a great start to his high school career, establishing himself as a top quarterback in his class.
He is also visiting programs as part of his recruitment process. The quarterback has visited Clemson and South Carolina. In an April interview with Eleven Warriors, Day talked about the programs he had visited.
"I'm going to take some this summer, but none planned at the moment. I'll let you guys know when I plan some," Day said.
RJ Day racked up 1,425 yards and 14 touchdowns in his sophomore year. In his two seasons with the Stallions, the QB has accumulated 2,993 passing yards, which has given him the top spot in his high school's history. He joined Dino Razzano and Jack Elgin as the only quarterbacks to record multiple 1,000-yard seasons.
