NFL legend Larry Fitzgerald's son Devin Fitzgerald receives an offer from Big 12 title contender 

Three-star wide receiver Devin Fitzgerald, the son of NFL legend Larry Fitzgerald, began his football journey at 4 years old. He is now one of the most emerging prospects in the 2026 class and is gaining attention from multiple programs.

Iowa State is the latest program to make an offer to the standout from Brophy College Preparatory in Phoenix, Arizona, on Wednesday. Cyclones wide receiver coach Noah Pauley extended the scholarship and Fitzgerald shared the news on X:

"After a meaningful conversation with @Coach_NPauley , I am humbled and excited to announce that I have received an offer from Iowa State University."

Iowa State has two committed players in its 2026 class: three-star offensive tackle Mason Bandhauer and three-star safety Kaprice Keith. Besides Fitzgerald, the Cyclones also sent offers to multiple wide receivers in the class, including Somourian Wingo, Jaron Pula, Elias Coke, Larry Miles, Rico Blassingame and Jaxon Toala.

Growing up with a football icon as a father comes with its share of challenges and opportunities, and Devin Fitzgerald understands this better than most.

"There is always a good balance with my dad," Devin told 247Sports. "He tries not to overdo it, he wants to make sure I want it more than he does. But there are times I have to be like 'Dad, I need you to get after me more."

Larry Fitzgerald’s career is a model of excellence, as the Heisman Trophy runner-up (2003) claimed numerous accolades during his time at the University of Pittsburgh, including the Biletnikoff Award and Walter Camp Award.

His NFL career with the Arizona Cardinals was nothing short of extraordinary: 11 Pro Bowl selections, over 17,000 receiving yards, and a place on the NFL’s 100th Anniversary All-Time Team. His excellence is also exemplified by his 2016 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award.

For Devin Fitzgerald, the challenge isn’t just meeting expectations, as he wants to surpass them in his own way.

"I know that because of who my dad is, it's going to be harder for me to prove the kind of player I am and I know that he set a really high bar because of how hard he worked so I don't just have to work hard to prove myself, but I have to work that much harder to prove it to everyone else," Devin said.

Devin Fitzgerald is rated by the On3 Industry Rankings as the No. 107 wide receiver in the 2026 class, the No. 643 prospect in the nation and the No. 5 recruit in Arizona.
