Unranked defensive lineman Waylon Wooten from Grayson High School in Loganville, Georgia, has started turning heads after just one week of game film. The sophomore's impressive performances on the field have earned him attention from several college programs, including the South Carolina Gamecocks.Shane Beamer's program joined the race for Wooten’s commitment by extending an offer for their 2027 recruiting class. On Saturday, South Carolina defensive line coach Travian Robertson officially presented the offer to him. This summer, major programs like Florida and Auburn extended offers during his visits. On August 31, he attended Florida's game against Miami, where the Gators fell 41-17. A week later, he was at Auburn's game against California, witnessing another close loss, 21-14.Waylon Wooten's consistency and dominance on defense are likely to draw even more offers as the season progresses.
