No. 50 prospect in the Class of 2025 JJ Mandaquit made his commitment to Washington official on Instagram on Wednesday. It marked Washington's second commitment after they had received the nod from the No. 101 prospect and shooting guard Courtland Muldrew on Oct. 8.
Mandaquit took to Instagram to post a wholesome video announcing his commitment on Tuesday. The video received plenty of reactions from the fans as well as the top two recruits from the Class of 2025, including Cameron Boozer.
No. 1 prospect and Utah Prep teammate AJ Dybantsa, Duke's latest recruitment Cameron Boozer and Brigham power forward Brody Kozlowski all commented on the video:

"Shocka shocka 🤙🤙," commented Cameron Boozer.
"Congrats brotha🤞🏼," commented Kozlowski.
"be great," AJ Dybantsa commented.
Some other fans took to the comments to congratulate Mandaquit on his commitment:

JJ Mandquit chose Washington after his visit on Sep. 21 over Hawaii, California and USC. According to 247Sports, he had 15 offers and visited four colleges.

With offers from top programs such as California, Creighton, Washington State, BYU, Virginia, Louisville and more, Mandaquit stated that the main reason for him choosing Washington was the coaching staff and their vision.
While talking to On3, Mandaquit talked about Head Coach Danny Sprinkle:
“Coach Sprinkle has been successful everywhere he’s coached and I believe in his plan for the program going forward. I also believe in his vision for me within the program and his plan for me to develop individually."
"I feel like Coach Sprinkle and the staff can help me achieve my goals as a player while in college and in the future to one day play professionally.”
