Recruiting insiders Travis Branham and Eric Bossi believe that AJ Dybantsa and Darryn Peterson have separated themselves from the rest of the Class of 2025 following Cooper Flagg's reclassification.

Flagg, once the top prospect in the 2025 class, reclassified to 2024 last year. With his departure, Dybantsa rose to the top spot, followed by Peterson, in ESPN's latest Class of 2025 rankings.

On Wednesday's episode of "The 247Sports College Basketball Show," Branham and Bossi discussed the rise of Dybantsa and Peterson.

(02:05) "I've seen both Darryn Peterson and AJ Dybantsa as recently as last week when they were playing at the Marshall County Hoop Fest in the Grind Session. ... Peterson is the No. 2 player in the country behind Dybantsa right now.
"And I thought there was a chance that there would be a stronger case for Peterson to be No. 1, but what I saw from Dybantsa. Just how he's grown and matured, continued to expand his offensive scoring package, and also started to show more flashes as a playmaker, facilitator and defender. I think those are areas in which he is going to grow and evolve. To me, his upside is through the roof.

Later in the show, Bossi chipped in.

(6:55) "No disrespect to Cameron Boozer," Bossi said. "No disrespect to anyone in the class. Just from watching these guys, I think that they've opened up a little bit of separation from the pack."

The No. 2 prospect recorded 32 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. Dybansta had 28 points, eight rebounds, six assists and four steals.

Their rivalry is set to continue in college, as both players have committed to different schools within the same conference. Dybantsa will play at BYU, choosing the Cougars over Alabama, Kansas State, Kansas and North Carolina.

His decision sets up future matchups against Peterson, who committed to Kansas. Peterson selected Kansas over Ohio State, Kansas State and USC.
