Four-star defensive lineman Bryce Perry-Wright has yet to make his college commitment but is gaining valuable insights from his recruiting visits. On Saturday, the 2026 class prospect was at Jordan-Hare Stadium to witness Auburn’s dramatic 43-41 victory over No. 20-ranked Texas A&M in a four-overtime thriller.
"Good win, what four overtimes? Crazy, so crazy," Perry-Wright told 247 Sports.
The dramatic win, which pushed the Tigers to a 5-6 record on the season and 2-5 in Southeastern Conference play, left Perry-Wright, who is from Buford, Georgia, in awe. The atmosphere of the packed stadium and the crowd storming the field after the win made the experience unforgettable.
"So many people, you never think you've seen that many people, it was a lot," Perry-Wright said, via 247Sports. "Shoot, I couldn't get off the field. I was stuck in there."
The memorable win and vibrant fan atmosphere will provide the Tigers with a significant advantage in the race for the 6-foot-2 DL's commitment, who also noted that the experience ranked as his best visit to the program. He is the No. 53-ranked prospect in the nation, the No. 4 defensive lineman in the 2026 class and the No. 8 recruit in Georgia.
Commit Kail Ellis on recruits' affinity for Auburn following recent win
The Tigers may have had a lackluster season this year, but Saturday's win over the Aggies somehow overshadowed their former struggles. On a good note, the Tigers chose the perfect game to host multiple prospects from the 2025 class, including offensive line commit Kail Ellis, wide receiver commit Sam Turner and uncommitted five-star defensive lineman Justus Terry.
“Me, Justus, and Sam Turner were talking before the game and we were talking about how everybody wants to come in here and compete," Ellis told Auburn Live.
Turner flipped his commitment from Georgia Tech to Auburn last month. Meanwhile, Georgia is the leader in Terry's recruitment, with a 95.8% chance of securing his commitment. However, his latest visit to Auburn will give the school an edge in his recruitment, though it only has a 1.2% chance.
The Tigers will conclude the regular season against the 13th-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide (8-3) in the Iron Bowl in Tuscaloosa on Saturday. An upset win over Alabama will be a big boost for the Tigers ahead of the early signing period on Dec. 4.
