On Friday, October 18, 2024, BIGHIT MUSIC dropped the latest concept photos of BTS' Kim Seok-jin's forthcoming solo album, Happy. The Moon singer-songwriter is seen in a brunette mullet. In the photos, he is sitting next to what looks like a tennis dressing room, relaxing outside a camping van, and more.
The Grammy-nominated artist brought back nostalgia with a camping van setup, which is reminiscent of BTS' In The Soop moments where the group took pictures in front of a camping van.
Furthermore, his hairstyle reminded fans of the popular anime character, Light Yagami, from Death Note. A fan described the idol's look to an anime character and wrote on X:
“Jin looks like coming from a Japanese anime”
As the concept photos went viral, the BTS fandom discussed how the pictures give a vibe of how "being alone doesn't mean we are not happy." Others highlighted how Jin's resemblance to Light Yagami is uncanny.
"The vibes are so me. "Being alone doesn't mean we are not happy. We literally can do anything we want without someone judging us." That's the first thing come to my mind after watching the concept clip. I love this! I so can't wait," a fan wrote.
"Glad we're all on the same page. Sorry Seokjin, you're never beating the Light Yagami allegations," another fan wrote.
"If you didn't tell me anything about jin, i'd pretty much assume that he's a japanese actor playing as light yagami from death note or that one dude from boys over flowers," another fan added.
Some fans also recalled how BTS' Suga once mentioned Jin as someone who came "straight out of a shoujo manga." For the unversed, Shoujo mangas are anime where the male leads are often portrayed as having gentle and romantic qualities.
"Personification of Handsome Beauty. He is World Wide Handsome for a reason!!!," one fan praised.
"This man is so divine you guys don't understand just how ethereal he is," another fan commented.
"Thinking of when yoongi said how seokjin has a face straight out a shoujo manga," another fan recalled.
BTS' Kim Seok-jin arrives to receive j-hope outside the military base on the latter's discharge
On October 17, 2024, BTS member Jung Ho-seok aka j-hope was discharged from the military after fulfilling his mandatory service. Due to North Korea's hostile retaliation towards South Korea, where the former blasted railroads connecting to South Korea, other enlisted BTS members reportedly couldn't get leave to attend j-hope's military discharge.
The Epiphany singer was the only member to arrive outside the Wonju military center to welcome j-hope to civilian life. Later, BTS leader Kim Namjoon posted an Instagram story, wishing j-hope a heartfelt welcome and writing that he would meet j-hope soon. Other BTS members Namjoon, Taehyung, Jimin, Jungkook, and Suga will be discharged in June 2025.
