Fans demand the return of RIIZE's Seughan following SM Entertainment's announcement of his departure and solo career debut
In November 2023, RIIZE's former member, Seunghan, entered a hiatus following some controversies. Some of these included the leak of photos and videos of his alleged smoking, kissing his former girlfriend, etc. After his 11-month-long hiatus, in October 2024 SM Entertainment announced that the idol would be slowly re-entering the group's schedules.
However, this was soon changed after SM Entertainment announcement that followed two days later. The agency apologized for the confusions and stated that the idol will be permanently departing the group. They explained that the decision was made due to the backslash they recieved on the announcement regarding Seunghan's return.
They also explained that the idol himself suggested his departure to safeguard the group's future in the industry. However, fans were not happy with the idol's departure. Many expressed that they felt the departure to be unfair to the idol and people also expressed that they are unhappy with RIIZE's progression as a six-member group. Therefore, fans have been holding various protest campaigns.
On November 15, the entertainment agency announced that the former RIIZE member would debut as a solo artist and is currently preparing to debut in the second-half of 2025.
From online trends to protesting in front of SM Entertainment's headquarters, fans have been strongly expressing their demands of Seunghan returning to RIIZE.
