The journalist Kang, who was in contact with her stated that the idol used her connection with F.T. Island's Jong-hoon during her rookie days to help open the gate for the Burning Sun scandal investigation. She reached out to the journalist and her bravery was the very reason behind the case being brought to light.

Additionally, Goo Hara also explained that she also fell victim to the actions of K-pop idols involved in the scandal.

For those who are unaware, the Burning Sun scandal revolved around a nightclub that was kickstarted by the former BIGBANG member, Seungri. The club was soon exposed with allegations of r*pe, non-consensual s*x, sharing non-consensual videos of women on Kakaotalk group chats, etc.

This chain of events involved not just Seungri, but also other famous K-pop stars such as F.T. Island's Choi Jong-hoon, Highlight's Jong Jun-hyung, CNBLUE's Lee Jong-hyun, etc. In addition, a recent BBC documentary revealed more people who were involved in the controversy, especially those who helped bring the controversy to light.

One of them was the former KARA member, Goo Hara. Goo Hara was born on January 3, 1991, and debuted with the girl group in 2008. Following the same, she also kickstarted her career as a soloist. Kang remarked that it was Goo Hara who opened up the gate for the case, and her aids helped the police to bring the case to light.


However, around the same year the controversy unfolded, the idol and actress was found dead at her home. People speculated that the cause of the death was most likely suic*de.
