The Influencer premiered its first four episodes on Tuesday, August 6, at 4 pm KST on Netflix starring some big names like PaniBottle, NeedMoreCash, RISABAE, Sia Jiwoo, Mejiwoo, and many more. This survival program is Netflix's latest South Korean reality show following big hits like Physical: 100, Zombieverse, The Devil’s Plan, and Siren: Survive the Island.

In this show, internet personalities, celebrities, and influencers participate in a competition where their followers and market value regulate their worth. The line-up included 77 major influencers who collectively boast over 120 million followers on social media platforms like Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and AfreecaTV.

The market value of the influencers collectively was reported to be over 400 Billion KRW.

Netflix described the reality show as:

“The Influencer is a social survival unscripted show in which 77 of South Korea’s top influencers — whose influence directly translates to their market value — compete to determine who holds the greatest sway."

The first episode of The Influencer introduced 77 social media influencers who faced their first battle of attracting attention from their competitors. They were allowed to send a certain number of likes and dislikes to the influencer they wanted to within two hours.

Many focused on receiving the maximum number of likes by appealing to the cast members. The members were not told how the results would be determined before the battle started.

Keeping in mind that internet personalities gain fame through love and hate from their audiences, only a few contestants like Jin Yong-jin and Jang Keun-suk focused on receiving dislikes.

The top 30 influencers made it to the next round by achieving maximum points, which was the sum of likes and dislikes.
