Terror Comes Knocking: The Marcela Borges Story is a Lifetime film that is both a documentary and a horror story of Marcela Borges and her family in November 2009. At the time, Marcela, her husband Rubens Morais, and their 5-year-old son Ryan lived in Winter Garden, Florida. She was two months pregnant with their second child.

On November 15, 2009, their house was stormed by four armed robbers who tied the family with duct tape and took them away. These kidnappers then brought the family to a house in Apopka, Florida where they were held overnight. The next day, Marcela was forced to take $23,600 from her bank account, which she handed over to the kidnappers.

During the ordeal, Marcela recognized one of the captors, a woman named Bianca Dos Santos, who had obtained information about the family from her mother, a former employee of Rubens. Fearing for their lives, Marcela made a daring escape by jumping from the second story of their home, despite being shot twice.
