Snoop Dogg had fans impressed this Monday, August 20, after reuniting with Solo Stove for the 'Blunt' ad campaign. The 30-second commercial features American rapper Warren G. and Snoop, filmed under the night sky with a Solo Stove.
The marketing campaign is a no-frill and to-the-point statement from Snoop who does not shy away from mentioning that he's here to sell the stoves. Tuning into his laid-back attitude, the rapper presents a fun YouTube commercial.
The commercial had fans praising Snoop Dogg's witty delivery when the rapper also shared it on X, mentioning how he made a "smokeless fire pit famous". Seemingly amused by the ad, a user commented on YouTube that they would take the entire stock.
"I'LL TAKE YOUR ENTIRE STOCK"
Others couldn't help but agree as they shared similar comments of praise on X.
"Snoop can sell anything. And make it cool," tweeted a user.
"Marketing Genius!" chuckled one user.
"Snoop got that golden touch for sure," praised a fan.
Some people seemed displeased with the ad or Snoop Dogg, and didn't hold back from sharing the same as they tweeted:
"I'm actually more likely not to buy it, I love you Snoop but this is horrible product marketing. They made you the product if anything," mentioned one user.
"You got the CEO fired boy, Martha cant save your old a*s now," mentioned an X user.
A look at Snoop Dogg's Solo Stove 'Blunt' campaign, his previous ad, and more
Snoop Dogg's Blunt marketing commercial follows a duet-like format where Warren G. completes many of his sentences or adds 'Blunt' references. The rapper begins the commercial by mentioning that he is the king of the buzz.
Warren G completes the sentence for him, hinting Snoop is all about being blunt now. Snoop confirms Warren's statement and mentions the ad is for Solo Stoves. The rapper encourages people to buy the product by highlighting the smokeless operations and multiple-size options of the fire pits.
Snoop Dogg then presents a witty-bold take on the commercial and hints how he's here to make sales:
“I’m here because you’re more likely to buy this product because I’m Snoop” said Snoop Dogg.
Warren G. may not have said much in The Martin Agency-created ad, but his perfectly timed 'Blunt' responses add a balanced touch to the commercial. The 30-second ad ends with Warren saying "Super Blunt" and Snoop pointing at the brand logo which appears right above their heads.
The Blunt Marketing campaign from Solo Stove is the second time the outdoor lifestyle products brand joined hands with Snoop. The two first partnered in November 2023 for a viral ad campaign spearheaded by rumors of the rapper 'giving up smoke.'
The news about Snoop quitting smoking came as a massive shocker for fans who were well aware of his love for smoking. The topic was up for discussion internationally only to be later revealed as a statement related to the rapper's Solo Stove ad campaign.
The “Snoop Goes Smokeless” campaign left fans and critics divided. While some praised the marketing genius of the ad-makers, others seemed worried about the impact of celebrity marketing. The November 2023 Solo Stove commercial helped raise the brand's awareness at a global level but was not very successful in generating sales leads.
Solo Stove and Snoop Dogg were back in the news this January after the former CEO, John Merris, left the company. Merris, who praised Snoop's ad campaign in 2023, had to reportedly leave his position in the aftermath of the flopped marketing stunt.
