In a recent episode of the No Jumper podcast dated December 16, 2024, Adam22 stated that Jay-Z should have befriended podcasters like DJ Vlad and DJ Akademiks so they would back him against allegations. Referring to the s*xual assault lawsuit against Jay-Z, filed on December 8, 2024, Adam22 expressed his perspective on Hov's friendships and relationships, saying:
"Jay-Z put in so much time and effort building all these relationships with all these old school music industry people, and old school radio hosts, and all these types of sh*t. But he doesn't have a relationship with me, Vlad, Ak [Akademiks], Sean Cotton."
He continued:
"But wouldn't you think if he was such a forward thinking genius in the music industry that he would've wanted to form relationships. Granted not with me, don't do it with me... I feel no particular desire to make Jay-Z's life worse. I assume that these allegations are probably mostly bulls**t"
Adam22 then said that he would be incentivized to put forth a positive perspective on Hov if he had been invited to a brunch by Roc Nation (owned by the rapper). Netizens quickly took to X to react to the podcaster's statement, wherein one of the users wrote:
"Jay don’t need yall."
"Umm… Jay doesn’t need Adam22, Vlad or any of them ever," an X user commented.
"Jay doesnt want to associate his name with you buddy," another user mentioned.
"Adam trying to force himself in that category," an internet user said.
Additionally, netizens commented that Jay-Z didn't need media personnel like Adam22 to fight the allegations against him.
"Now why would a Billionaire thats already not on social media and doesn’t deal with media directly need to do any of this," an X user tweeted.
"No need to go to the media. Just release a statement through his lawyer like he did," a netizen commented.
Jay-Z's attorney asks the court to dismiss Jane Doe's s*xual assault lawsuit against the rapper
The lawsuit filed against Jay-Z on December 8, 2024, was filed by a "Jane Doe," accusing Hov of r*ping her in 2000, when she was 13 years old. While the lawsuit was originally filed in October 2024, it was refiled in December 2024 in New York to add Hov's name to the list of defendants along with Diddy.
The suit accuses both rappers of s*xually assaulting and drugging Jane Doe at the MTV Video Music Awards after-party in 2000.
According to a report by BBC dated December 14, 2024, Jane Doe claimed that she spoke to a celebrity at the said party. However, a representative of the unnamed celebrity said he was touring at the time.
Additionally, the woman's father told NBC News, in an interview published on December 13, 2024, that he couldn't recall driving five hours to pick her up after the reported assault, as initially claimed by her. Moreover, in her interview with NBC, Jane Doe acknowledged that she made some mistakes in her accusations, however, she stood by her claim against Diddy and Hov.
Jay-Z's attorney, Alex Spiro, then requested the court to dismiss Jane Doe's lawsuit and told BBC in a statement:
"It is stunning that a lawyer would not only file such a serious complaint without proper vetting, but would make things worse by further peddling this false story in the press."
While Jay-Z's lawyer has requested the court for the s*xual assault lawsuit's dismissal, the rapper took to Roc Nation's Instagram account on December 9, 2024, to give a statement on the accusations against him.
Hov targetted Jane Doe's attorney Tony Buzbee, suggesting that the lawsuit was an extortion ploy. The Renegade rapper also mentioned the impact the allegations would have on his family.
