Rapper Tony Yayo recently credited Drake for him landing a deal with Spencer's. In an interview with DJ Vlad, Yayo said that Drizzy wearing his "Free Yayo" t-shirt back in July helped him land his Spencer's deal.
"Once Drake wore the shirt, I got the call the next day. ‘Spencer’s wants to do a deal with you,'" said the rapper.
The "Free Yayo" t-shirt became popular after Eminem wore it during his performance at the 45th Grammy Awards. The Mockingbird rapper wore the shirt to show his support for Tony Yayo, demanding his release. Yayo was in prison at the time for bail jumping, following an arrest on 2003 New Year's Eve.
In July 2024, Drake also wore the "Free Yayo" t-shirt and shared pictures in it on his Instagram story. The Toronto rapper's support came shortly after Yayo spoke in an interview about his feud with Kendrick Lamar earlier this year.
Following Tony Yayo's statements crediting Drake for his deal, fans took to X to react to his words. One user wrote:
"Drake’s stimulus package got layers."
"That's how you help the "Culture". Now he has an opportunity to earn more money instead of twerking on stage for nothing," a fan said.
"DRAKE IS THE GOAT," another user said.
"“I’m what the culture feeling."," an individual added.
"Drake influence wt f," an X user wondered.
Fans continued to credit Drizzy for his influence in the reactions.
"Gave that man a stimulus just off wearin a shirt, that's hard lol," a fan wrote.
"His name ring bells," an individual mentioned.
"Man We will nevee see influence like this again 6god wow," another fan exclaimed.
"Why is Vlad tryna make it seem like it was his idea lmfao talkin bout he needs a cut," an X user chimed in.
Tony Yayo spoke about Drake and Kendrick Lamar's feud

In an interview with DJ Vlad in June 2024, Tony Yayo shared his views on the infamous battle between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, saying:
"I think the battle is not over. Drake is Drake, Kendrick is Kendrick. They're both two of the biggest artists in the world. Every time we count Drake out he comes back with a f**king hit, that's all I'm saying. All he gotta do is come back with No. 1 record. The kids are gonna be dancing just like they are to 'Not Like Us.'"
Yayo also believed that people were not talking enough about the rap feud or showing their support for either side because they were afraid of not being allowed to perform in Canada, Drizzy's hometown, again. Yayo further continued:
“You can't really give your opinion because n***as still wanna go to Canada. You don't wanna say something about Drake and now you can't go to Canada."
Previously this year, Tony Yayo also opened up about going on tour with 50 Cent, explaining how it was a lucrative deal for him. He went on to reveal that he does not "ask for too much" for his tours and that he's "making six figures."
Further, he denied claims of 50 Cent being a bad person, stating that he had a great time touring with him. He added that he stayed in luxurious hotels like Four Seasons and W in Bahrain, which made his experience more pleasurable.
