On June 10, 2025, BTS' Kim Namjoon took to the South Korean social media platform Weverse, where he started a live broadcast sharing the reason he played on a saxophone at the military discharge ceremony, as fans reacted to the same.
RM mentioned that the world had become a harsh place to live, and hence, he wanted to make people laugh. He added, as translated by X user @mhereonlyforbts:
"The reason why I played the saxophone today, of course I did it to be funny, and now it's a harsh world isn't it? The world is harsh these days, don't laugh a lot, I want to laugh a little harder... I also have two personas, of course, people are talking to me about the UN speech and staying there, but I also want to make people laugh."

Subsequently, the artist's reason behind playing on a saxophone at his miltiary discharge ceremony circulated on social media and went viral among the fans. They were elated to know the reason behind his thoughtful gestures.
