Hip-hop titan 50 Cent lavished praise on Nicki Minaj, claiming he would trade his G-unit members for the former. The 49-year-old talked about his new Las Vegas residency, business empire, and a pivotal decision that might have changed his career trajectory, in a recent interview.
In an interview with The Breakfast Club dated October 29, The Disco Inferno rapper dived deep into a ‘what if’ scenario that might have changed the shape of the hip-hop industry forever. The hip-hop magnate has never shied away from sharing his admiration for Nicki Minaj, declaring her as one of the most influential female artists of the decade. The rapper raved about Minaj’s ability to create an impact with her work, saying:
"If Nicki had come along back then, I would've made room-no hesitation."
50 Cent also praised Nicki Minaj’s business acumen, highlighting her ability to dominate multiple spaces in the industry. He even predicted that Minaj’s achievements might place her above G-Unit in the future.

In an interview on Earn Your Leisure dated October 2, rapper and music mogul 50 Cent recently talked about the hiatus in his rapping career. He revealed that he didn’t find the current rapping industry intelligent enough to produce new work.
"If you listen to the music that's out right now, I have to tap into my stupid. I have to tap into the stupid side of me to write the right thing when it comes time to write the music," explained the rapper.
Cent made a strong name for himself in the rapping industry with hits like The Massacre (2005), and Curtis (2007). The rapper made his debut with the 2003 album Get Rich or Die Tryin’.
Released in collaboration with Interscope Records, Shady Records, G-Unit Records, and Aftermath Entertainment, the album featured guest appearances from Eminem, Nate Dog, and Young Buck. It peaked atop the Billboard 200 and sold over 872,000 copies worldwide in its first week.
Despite a successful track record as a rapper, the rapper’s last release was Animal Ambition all the way back in 2014. Since then, he has dipped his toe into projects outside the music world.
However, he seems to have new collaborations lined up, to be released shortly. In his Big Boy TV appearance on January 2023, 50 Cent mentioned working on new music with Dr. Dre. The rapper also teased new releases with Dr. Dre when he wished the latter in an Instagram post on February 19.
