"I feel like I hate HOV right now" — Drake reacts to unboxing Cam'ron's pink jacket in newly released throwback video

In a recently released throwback video, rapper Drake unboxes the pink fur jacket famously worn by hip-hop artist Cam'ron.

On August 6, 2024, a user @LorenLorosaa on X recently released a video that captures an unfiltered and candid moment, giving fans a glimpse into the Canadian rapper's reaction as he handles one of the most iconic pieces in hip-hop history.

Referencing the beef between Jay Z and Cam'ron, the rapper humorously suggested that after wearing the jacket, he feels like he hates Jay Z now.

"I can feel the beef. I feel like I hate HOV right now."

The beef between Jay-Z and Cam'ron started in 2002 when Cam erased a verse of Jay-Z from a 2002 track, Oh Boy, because Jay-Z erased his verse from One for Peedi Crakk that year. Later, Nas aimed Jay Z, and Cam reportedly joined the fray, releasing Show You How. However, they now have reportedly settled the beef.

Cam'ron's famous pink fur jacket dates back to 2003. He wore it at a Baby Phat fashion show. He bought it from Apollo Signature in Harlem on 125th Street 20 years ago, as revealed to Boardroom last year.

Drake's unfiltered moment with Cam'ron's famous pink jacket

On Tuesday, a video on social media was released from the time when Drake unboxed Cam'ron's infamous pink fur jacket for his Apollo show in January 2023.

The 46-second video begins with a man presenting a jacket box to the Toronto rapper. Drake is on a call, seemingly with Cam'ron, as he repeatedly thanks the person on the other end.

"We brought the shit out here. We get it. We get it. Here it is. Yeah brother for sure, I see you tomorrow. Thank you brother, real this is crazy. Thank you my brother, love. I see you tomorrow."

After the phone call, Drake looked at the jacket box and suggested that he grew up staring at this jacket because when Cam wore his jacket, the Toronto rapper was 16 years old.

"This needs to be in a museum right here. Oh my God. I grew up staring at this jacket. Where is the hat, oh is that there? It is the headband."

Drake wore the pink fur jacket on January 22, 2023, at an Apollo Theater performance, where he paid homage to Cam'ron by wearing the same headband as well. He performed Best I Ever Had, Over, Headlines, Say Something, Trust Issues, Jaded, Jungle, and Take Care at the event.

Cam'ron talks about Drake wearing his pink fur jacket:

On February 2023, on Kevin Durant's Boardroom platform, Cam revealed that the fashion piece is worth being in the "museums" and suggested that it will only be out from the closet when it makes sense. Cam further added that Drake wore it for Apollo, which was a cool thing to bring out —

"The coat got its own personality — people wanna put it in museums. So, the fur comes out once in a while if it make sense. But you know, for the Drake show being at the Apollo, I thought it would be cool to bring out."

During Cam's peak era, the Harlem rapper opted for the jacket, which he paired with a matching headband and a pink flip phone. This became a fashion statement, and many spawned countless replicas.

Cam'ron was supportive of Drake wearing the piece for his event. However, during the interview with Kevin Durant, Cam'ron suggested he would only sell the piece to someone who would truly value its significance.

"If it makes sense to sell it to somebody who would appreciate it or put it where it's gonna be seen and be stored that people know it's my jacket, cool," he revealed.

It remains to be seen if Cam'ron will eventually sell it.
