Singer Chloe Bailey took to Instagram on Wednesday, November 27, to share her favorite songs from Kendrick Lamar’s latest album, GNX. The following day she appeared on another livestream to clarify that she was not “shooting” her “shot at a married man.” This comes after she told fans previously that she was convinced that she was going to marry the Not Like Us crooner when she was a teenager.
While clarifying her statement in a livestream on Thursday, November 28, Chloe Bailey said:
“I’m not shooting my shot at a married man. I was talking about years and years ago. I was just sharing how I was a die hard Kendrick fan like from day one. Everybody just doesn’t like happiness. Everybody has to take everything so seriously.”
The musician then added that she found it “funny” how people would take remarks “out of context.” She then clarified that she was initially just “sharing my mindset at 17 years old.”
The Grammy-winning reincarnated crooner has been with his fiancée, Whitney Alford, for decades now. The duo had been in a relationship since they were teenagers and are now parents to daughter Uzi and son Enoch.
“I was convinced I was going to be with him”— Chloe Bailey shared her love for Kendrick Lamar’s music in previous livestream
On November 27, the 26-year-old took to her Instagram live stream to discuss K. Dot’s latest album and her favorite songs from the same, which she listed were man in the garden, luther, reincarnated, and tv off.
Chloe Bailey also explained on social media that she had been a fan of K. Dot since the beginning of her career. She shared that she has had a James Fauntleroy, Frank Ocean, FKA twigs, and a Tune-Yards phase.
“I had a Kendrick Lamar phase, and I was convinced I was going to be with him,” Bailey added.
The Have Mercy singer then explained:
“Like, I’ve been a die-hard Kendrick fan from day one. So, I haven’t just hopped on the bandwagon now. But I’m happy a lot of people are hoppin’ on the bandwagon. But I’ve been a hardcore Kendrick fan… when he was K. Dot.”
Chloe Bailey and Kendrick Lamar have teamed up with the same people for their projects. The latter collaborated with the former’s mentor and pop star Beyoncé on tracks like Freedom and AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM.
It comes as no surprise that Chloe Bailed enjoyed K. Dot’s latest creation. Top Of The Charts reported on November 25 that the album is on track to become one of the most streamed hip-hop albums of 2024. The album is estimated to amass a total of 350 to 400 million streams in the opening week.
Meanwhile, K. Dot is gearing up for his Super Bowl halftime show performance, which is to take place in New Orleans next year. The 17-time Grammy-winner sparked controversy regarding the same after New Orleans-born rapper Lil Wayne expressed disappointment over not being selected to perform on the large stage. K. Dot addressed this in his latest song, wacced out murals.
