On October 28, American singer/songwriter Mariah Carey took to X to post a video in collaboration with actress Kerry Washington reminding people of the voting season before the Christmas celebrations kick in.

The video starts with Mariah Carey ready to sing her hit song All I Want for Christmas Is You, but she is abruptly stopped by Washington.

“No, no, no, no, no, no,” the actress tells Carey. “It’s not your season yet, Mariah. It’s voting season.”

Washington goes on to ask whether Carey is registered to vote, to which Carey responds in an affirmative tone. Thereafter, she opens a paper fan with 'Voter' written in block letters and says:

“That’s amazing! Because it’s my season before it’s her season. So, now all we need is you!”

Hudson talked about her experience of joining Carey on stage in an episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show in December 2023.
