On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, Judge Arun Subramanian denied a mistrial motion filed by Sean "Diddy" Combs' legal team over the weekend. The mistrial motion was filed over the testimony of Bryana Bongolan - Cassie Ventura's former friend - on Saturday, June 6. The motion concerned Bongolan's testimony about an alleged 2016 balcony incident from last week.

As per the BBC, Bongolan recounted an incident from September 2016 in Ventura's Los Angeles apartment, situated on the 17th floor of a building. Bryana testified that Diddy had dangled her off the apartment's balcony ledge, yelling:

"You know what the f**k you did".

Per Bongolan, Combs then threw her onto the balcony furniture. She also submitted photos of her bruised leg as proof of her injury, adding that she suffered paranoia and night terrors in the wake of the incident.

However, during her cross-examination, it was established that the timeline of Bryana Bongolan's testimony was faulty. The defense established that both the Victory rapper and Cassie Ventura were out of Los Angeles at the time.

Citing Bongolan's testimony as "demonstrably false," Combs' legal team accused the prosecution of using "false testimony to obtain a ruling admitting inadmissible hearsay evidence about it as well, all to present a false narrative to the jury," Fox News reported.

Denying the testimony in the courtroom on Tuesday (June 9), Judge Subramanian ruled that Bryana Bongolan's testimony didn't prejudice Combs' defense. He added that the defense should be celebrating the successful cross-examination of Bongolan instead.

Jane - one of Diddy's ex-girlfriends who is testifying under a pseudonym - also returned to the stand on Tuesday, June 9, for the defense's cross-examination.

During the cross-examination, defense attorney Teny Geragos asked Jane about the things she loved about Combs. In response, the witness credited Diddy for beaming "a very bright light when I met him," adding that she was "fascinated" by him.

Jane also claimed that the Last Night rapper had helped her get over her shyness and become more confident, adding that he "would uplift me". Per the witness's testimony, the Gotta Move On rapper also supported her business ventures, investing about $20,000 in her dress and swimwear fashion lines.

Jane also told Geragos that both she and Diddy had practiced caution to avoid anything about their "hotel nights" from leaking. She had moved into a new apartment in April 2023 with the same thought, hoping they "could just start at least doing [hotel nights] here, in the privacy of our own home".

For the unversed, the alleged "hotel nights" were s*xual encounters that included a male "entertainer," with Combs often directing the activities that occurred.

Per Jane's testimony, even the employees working for Diddy had no idea about the "entertainers". When Geragos asked her if the couple had done any "hotel nights" at her old apartment, Jane confirmed that they had.

Sean Combs, who was arrested in September 2024 on charges of s*x trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution, has pleaded not guilty. Combs could face life imprisonment if convicted of the charges when the trial concludes.
