During the test, Ariana Grande was asked by her Wicked costar Cynthia Erivo if she loved her "very dedicated" fanbase. The singer immediately answered saying "very much", which was deemed truthful by the lie detector. However, when asked if she loved them all the time, she elaborated:

"I love them always, but I think sometimes they can hurt my feelings. Sometimes I don’t like them, but I love them always. Does that make sense?"

The lie detector deemed the answer truthful and Erivo, quite impressed with Ariana's answer told the singer that she loved her and that it was "such a sweet" answer. She added:

"It’s a hard relationship I think, that’s sort of weirdly parasocial but it feels very real to me, so sometimes it’s hard but I love them very much."

"I don't like it"- Ariana Grande on her fans being called 'Arianators'

During the Vanity Fair lie detector test video published on Monday, when Wicked costar Cynthia Erivo asked Ariana Grande if she ever DM-ed a fan just to "chat", the singer replied in the affirmative and revealed that she did this all the time. She even revealed that she has also befriended three of her fans, who she maintained a "very close" friendship with, for around 7 years.

Later in the test, Erivo asked Grande if she came up with the name 'Arianators' for her fanbase and whether she liked it. Grande responded with "no" to both questions at which point the lie detector picked up some "deception". Ariana explained:

"I don't like it. I mean I've accepted it, but would I pick that? Of course not. That's insane."

Later in the video, Ariana Grande also addressed the plastic surgery rumors surrounding her physical appearence. As confirmed by the lie detector, Grande revealed that she has never gotten a nose job, boob job, eye lift, facelift, chin implant, or Brazilian butt lift. However, she was open to the possibility of getting a facelift.

The singer remarked that this was the best day of her life and confronted the "YouTube people" spreading such rumors. Grande conceded that the extent of the altercations done to her physical appearance consisted only of fillers in various places, and botox, which she stopped around four years ago. Ariana Grande remarked:

"[I’m] in full support of all people who do these things. Work. Whatever makes women, men, non-gender-conforming people feel beautiful should be allowed. Why do we care?"
