Who is Jay Critch? Rapper responds after video of 1 vs 6 brawl goes viral

Jay Critch has found himself in the headlines again after being involved in a dispute with a group of boys outside a nightclub in New Jersey. The moment was even captured on video, which runs for only five seconds and has grabbed a lot of attention on different platforms.

Also known as Jason Cole Critchlow, the American rapper, singer, and songwriter gained recognition for his mixtapes such as Rich Forever 3 and Signed with Love. He is additionally popular for his singles like Rockets, Fashion, and Thousand Ways.

Notably, the rapper was spotted shirtless and was wearing a black pant. He had a smile on his face when he was seen getting jumped by an anonymous person on camera.

While detailed information on the brawl is currently awaited, Jay Critch responded to the incident on social media as he shared a few posts on his Instagram Story. One of them featured a statement by him which reads:

"I popped on U first 1 vs 6 and left chains. U Lost."

Critch also added a few more words alongside the statement:

"End of story!"

This is not the first time Critch has been involved in a brawl. A similar incident was reported in September 2022 outside a club in New Jersey, and the circumstances leading to this dispute are yet to be made official.

The Brooklyn, New York City native has accumulated a huge fanbase with his work in the music industry over the years. Critch has worked with multiple record labels such as Interscope, 300, Rich Forever, and more.

He started his career by releasing several singles in 2016, and his first major project was Rich Forever 3, which came out the following year. The mixtape was successful and reached the 93rd spot on the US Billboard 200.

While speaking to Fader magazine in 2018, Jay Critch revealed that his brother was the reason he developed an interest in music. He referred to the same by saying:

"He was rapping, and I was f*cking with basically everything that he was listening to. My hood had already been on the map – since Junior Mafia days and sh*t."

Jay Critch also said that he began rapping when he was in middle school, and there was a time when people started to like his music. He said that this was the point where he became serious about his musical career. He said:

"In high school, I really had songs that n*ggas was f*cking with. So, I knew sh*t was gonna go somewhere. I just kept working, and, when n*ggas used to talk about it, I used to tell n*ggas all we gotta do is keep persevering and this sh*t gonna go. I always knew in my heart sh*t was going somewhere."

He even addressed the success of his song Fashion, saying that he was singing it for a few weeks before recording. He added that there was a line that says, "Come get your shawty she be wylin," which was added to the song after he heard the beat.

Jay Critch released six more mixtapes, the latest one, Jugg Season, came out in February last year. He is additionally popular for his singles, such as Red and Blue, Driving Me Brazy, Ego, Big 30, Change Clothes, Wanna Ball, and more.
