Katie Ledecky is headlining the USA Swimming squad for the Paris Olympics 2024 as she chases a historic feat in her fourth consecutive Olympic Games. The 27-year-old already has 10 Olympic medals to her name and only needs three more to become the most decorated female Olympic swimmer of all time.
Ledecky qualified for the Paris Olympics in five events in the U.S. Olympic Swimming Team Trials 2024. However, she dropped the 200m freestyle from her roster and is set to compete in the 400m freestyle, 800m freestyle, 1500m freestyle, and 4x200m freestyle relay events.
Ledecky will be first seen in action on July 27 in the women's 400m freestyle. She won the event at the 2016 Rio Olympics but lost to Australia’s Ariarne Titmus in 2021. Ledecky will also have Canadian teenager Summer McIntosh as her next toughest competitor in the event. Let's take a look at what her full schedule will be if she manages to qualify for each of her event finals.

Katie Ledecky’s toughest competitors at Paris Olympics 2024

In the 400m freestyle event, Ledecky will fight with Summer McIntosh and Ariarne Titmus to reclaim her gold medal from the 2016 Olympics. Although the other two swimmers have clocked better timings than Ledecky this season, one can never count her out.
In the 800m and 1500m freestyle events, Ledecky is the world record holder in both events and over the latter, she has no competition. Teammate Katie Grimes might put up a fight but would probably end up with a silver medal as Ledecky holds the 18 fastest times of all time in the distance.
However, she might face a bit of a challenge over the 800m freestyle. Along with Ariarne Titmus, Simona Quadarella and Lani Pallister will be looking to make it tougher for Ledecky to win her fourth consecutive 800m freestyle title.
What records can Katie Ledecky achieve at the Paris Olympics 2024?

Katie Ledecky will only need two more medals to tie for the most decorated female swimmer of all time. If she wins three, her tally will grow to 13, making her the first female swimmer to win 13 medals at the Olympic Games.
Ledecky is also chasing a record fourth Olympic title in the 800m freestyle event. If she manages to win it, she will be the first female swimmer to do so. The feat has only been achieved by Michael Phelps till now, who won the 200m IM from 2004 to the 2016 Olympic Games.
