NCAA D1 Track and Field Championships 2025: Top athletes to watch out for ft Mya Lesnar, Jordan Anthony

Shot put athlete Mya Lesnar qualified for the 2025 NCAA D1 Track and Field Championships

The 2025 NCAA D1 Track and Field Championships will take place from Wednesday, June 11, to Saturday, June 14, at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. This is the 16th time the event will be held in Oregon and will again witness exciting performances and terrific showdowns between athletes.

Several athletes locked horns with each other in the 2025 NCAA D1 Track and Field West and East Regionals, which are the first two rounds, to compete in Oregon. More than 20 events are set to be executed in the championships, which will feature athletes like Mya Lesnar, who is gearing up to compete in the shot put event. Along with her, Alexis Brown will be seen vying for the NCAA D1 Track and Field Championships 2025 title.

Here is the list of some of the top-notch athletes who will be competing in the outdoor championship.

Top athletes to watch out for at the 2025 NCAA D1 Track and Field Championships

#1 Mya Lesnar

Legendary WWE wrestler Brock Lesnar's daughter, Mya Lesnar, will represent the Colorado State Rams team in the shot put event at the upcoming outdoor championships. The athlete has solidified her legacy in the sport by becoming the No. 1 women's shot putter in the US.

She earned her spot in the NCAA track and field championships after winning her fourth consecutive shot put title of the season at the Mountain West Conference Championships. Lesnar registered a throw of 18.61 and is currently vying for the NCAA 2025 outdoor title.


#2 Jordan Anthony

Jordan Anthony will once again be seen showcasing his incredible skills in the 100m dash at the 2025 D1 Track and Field Championships. He made his way to the outdoor championships by nabbing the 100m victory at the West Regionals, which took place on May 31, 2025. He delivered a stellar performance by clocking an impressive speed of 9.75s.

Additionally, Anthony is the first Razorback athlete to win the 60m dash at the NCAA Indoor Championships after recording 6.49s. He is also on the Bowerman watch list.


#3 Alexis Brown

Alexis Brown is ready to headline the long jump event at the 2025 NCAA D1 Track and Field championships in Oregon after delivering a stunning performance in the regionals. She qualified for the event after soaring to a height of 6.94m.

In March 2025, she became the first Baylor athlete to win a national championship in the long jump by registering a mark of 6.90m at the NCAA Indoor Championships.

Outside of her long jump endeavors, the 24-year-old also excels in the 100m and 200m dashes, as she recently broke her own DC11 record in the former event, becoming the first woman in D11 history to clock sub-11.


#4 JaMeesia Ford

JaMeesia Ford will be seen competing in the women's 200m dash at the outdoor championships after she attained her spot in the competition by clocking 22.74s during the NCAA East Regionals.

She also showcased her staunch skills in the 100m dash by breaking the South Carolina school record in the event after posting a time of 11.00s in the semifinals of the NCAA East first round. In 2024, Ford won two national championships in the indoor 200m and 4x400m relays and also won the title at the New Balance Indoor Nationals.


#5 Micahi Danzy

The Florida State University's Micahi Danzy is geared to compete in the 400m at the 2025 NCAA D1 Track and Field Championships after booking his seat in the championships by clocking 45.26s in the 400m at the NCAA East Regionals.

A few days ago, he also competed at the ACC Championship, where he registered a meet record time of 44.38 in the 400m and won the title on May 17 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.


#6 Carli Makarawu

The men's 200m dash at the 2025 D1 NCAA Track and Field Championships will witness the Kentucky athlete, Carli Makarawu, run in the event days after he earned a podium finish in the NCAA East regionals. He registered a time of 19.92s to attain a third-place finish and book his berth in the outdoor championships.


#7 Makayla Paige

The 800m dash at the NCAA D1 Track and Field Championships will witness North Carolina's Makayla Paige compete for the title. She qualified for the championships following her triumph at the NCAA Indoor Championship, where she recorded a time of 2:00.39 in March 2025.

She also broke the UNC women's 800m record after clocking 2:00.57 at the BU John Thomas Terrier Classic in January.
